PLC-lite was designed for people who want to learn everything about the fascinating details of the IEC1131-3 standard in PLC programming and using. This software program is independent from any hardware PLC manufacturer, therefore it shows best the possibilities which IEC1131 offers, without any proprietary extensions that don't match the original IEC1131 idea.
PLC-lite is perfect for educational use. It supports nearly every part of IEC1131-3 (Instruction List) including function blocks and functions, input & output variables, local fields, timers, counters and flip-flops, etc. Additional features are the Project Manager to keep track of every file of a project, a performance monitor and the Logic Analyzer.
A great thing that makes learning fast & easy are the integrated
real-time simulation windows. With those tools you can see output lights,
input buttons, 7-segment displays, water tanks, and more on your computer
monitor to test your IEC1131 programs immediately in the "real" environment
without having to connect any huge external hardware to your PC!
And if you like, you can create your own windows as well.
PLC-lite is currently available in a 32bit version tested under Microsoft Windows 95, 98, ME, NT 4.0, 2000 and Windows XP. Note that the 32bit version doesn't run under Windows NT 3.x. System requirements are: at least Pentium processor or equivalent; 16 megabytes of RAM; 6 megabytes on harddisk; hicolor graphics display.
